Your PZA delivery has arrived!

Following a release from our label,
SODA  ソーダ SOCIETY, PZA is moving on up in the game with an album from the legendary taste makers, AMDISCS. As the cover suggests, there is some heavier vaporwave influence than previous releases going on here. The first two tracks in particular blend samples reminiscent of jazzy virtual plaza music with PZA's signature trap style drums. Later on in the album PZA doubles down on the assertion, which we previously suggested, that he is the next Clams Casino in the making with a very familiar sample of Imogen Heap. Surprisingly the track turns out to be more of a banger than Clam's own take on the song. The only thing resembling criticism that can be drawn from this release is that it is not aptly named. PZA may call this his "Magnum Opus," but we are still convinced there are even bigger and better things to come.

SODA ソーダ SOCIETY PRESENTS : PZA - HIDDEN IN SIGHT

PZA IS BACK. Coming straight from SODA  ソーダ SOCIETY, "HIDDEN IN SIGHT" is hands down T H E vaportrap album of the year. PZA brings everything to the table on this one; atmospheric and up-pitched vocals, drill beats, and buttery smooth synths. Tracks like HIKIKOMORI could just as easily be the backdrop for chart topping rap from the likes of Drake or A$AP. Don't sleep on this one, because when you wake up you may have missed the next Metro Boomin or Clams Casino. We got you with the exclusive download and stream from Bandcamp below.

FENIMORE夢 drops trap bangers with a dark side

In a world of sample heavy albums built on nostalgia, instrumentation can go a long way to make a vapor release stand out. FENIMORE夢 does just that with どこかで空間と時間の間 :: 我々はすべての落下します. The album is an extremely cohesive effort to carve out its own sound and style. The closest comparison that can be drawn here is to the sub-genre, vaportrap, that shares many elements with the FENIMORE夢 release. Dedicated to the late Evan Joseph Richards, the album contains dark undertones; the album title roughly translates to "between space and time somewhere we will all fall." Even more ambiguous, the album claims to be the score of a film never to be released, that is instead "rolling film all around us." Ultimately the artist leaves it up to the listeners to fill in the blanks and decipher the story. Regardless of how you choose to perceive it, you will be in for quite a treat.

Get in the zone: Digital Sex - Zones

Midnight Moon locked it down on Vaporwave.io and LIVE streamed the new release from Digital Sex. Vaporwave needs more kick off events like this to bring the community together. This is how you do it right TAKE NOTE WAVERS. Digital Sex gets a lot of things right with Zones. Vocals are skillfully pitched up and down in a cohesive manner, not just your run of the mill slowed down for vaporwave sake often seen with lazy producers. Production on Zones is top notch, earning the album a cassette debut from Midnight Moon Tapes.  Digital Sex isn't pinned down to a single subgenre; tracks weave their way in and out of mallsoft and hip hop territory keeping the album dynamic. The verdict? You will probably want to snatch up this tap before it inevitably sells out. Z O N E _ O U T to the cut "SANCTUARY ZONE" in the stream below.

She Owns the Night OST is not your A V G vaporwave album

Somewhere on the streets of 中国 Zhuhai long lost footage is recovered depicting the tragic death of a Chinese celebrity. Lastboss documents these devastating events through a series of songs that make up "She Owns the Night OST." The grim nature of the release is amplified by dreadful drones of ambient loops sampled from various Chinese films. A few tracks into the introspective and thematic soundtrack and you are made aware that you are not listening to your typical vaporwave release. Arguably "She Owns the Night" isn't even vaporwave at all, yet the formula of pitch shifts, heavy reverb, and sampled loops are all there. Instead, the release approaches the vaporwave genre with much more depth than most albums. The title of the release is dedicated to the late Teresa Teng who was lost before her time. She famously sang "The Moon Represents My Heart", a Chinese classic, and was known to "own" the night with her beloved music. The concept of the OST adds power to the emotional weight of the album. The result is one of the most textured vaporwave releases out there. Lastboss is able to create edits that retain their extremely analog touch. The crackle, hiss, and warble of outdated technology never gets lost in the mix. However, this is a release you will want to get lost in. Surrender yourself to "She Owns the Night OST" in the stream below.

The mastermind behind WTF.FM and [PATRYK FILMS] has even been a collaborator with my Crystal Surge project, both musically and visually.  Now Patryk has taken the time discuss with SODA  ソーダ SOCIETY about the nature of Vaporwave and his involvement with the genre. Patryk has previously hinted at a possible hiatus to the WTF.FM project due to everyday responsibilities of life. We were lucky enough to have Patryk reach into the WTF vault and provide a new track to tide us over until the WTF.FM comeback! Listen to the track and read the transcript from our interview below.
